This privacy statement applies when you visit Motional.com (“Site”) or any other sites affiliated with Motional or its affiliates (Sites) including if you have been directed to this Site or when you contact us with a comment, inquiry or customer support request through this Site. Personal information collected about you in connection with other Motional Sites, products, services or mobile applications (including those made available to you by our group companies) may be covered by different privacy statements. It is important that you read this privacy statement together with any other privacy statements or other notices we may provide to you.

The kind of information we hold about you 

Personal data means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified.

When you avail of our services, or purchase Motional products, we may collect, store, and use the following categories of personal data about you: 

  • Identity Data – details such as first name, maiden name, last name, username or similar identifier, title, company/organization name, date of birth.
  • Contact Data – name, title, addresses, telephone numbers, and business and personal email addresses.
  • Profile Data – your username and password, purchases or orders made by you, your interests, preferences, feedback and survey responses.
  • Transaction Data – details about payments to and from you and other details of products and services you have purchased from us.
  • Marketing and Communications Data – data on your preferences in receiving marketing from us and our third parties and your communication preferences.
  • Interaction and Usage Data – when you interact with us we will record details of those interactions (for example, phone calls, e-mail correspondence and hard copy correspondence as well as information on how you use our Site, products and services).   • Mandatory Data – data that is mandatory for us to collect to comply with certain legal and regulatory obligations that apply to our business

  • Technical Data – such data would include internet protocol (IP) address, your login data, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform and other technology on the devices you use to access this Site.
  • Video Data – personal data footage recorded for security, health and safety or product development purposes. 


How is your personal information collected? 

We collect personal data through our interactions with you, when you use our services, purchase our products or when you complete our administrative forms in hard copy or on-line. We also may collect data through development of our products or services, which may include street view video data collected in public spaces. 

Different data collection methods: 

  • Direct interactions. You may give us your Identity, Contact, Financial, Interaction and Usage Data by filling in forms, using our Site or by corresponding with us by post, phone, email or otherwise. This includes personal data you provide when you apply for our products or services:

    • Video collection via vehicles driving on public motorways 


How we use your personal information

  • Services and transactions. We may use your personal information to deliver services to you or carry out transactions you have requested, including, but not limited to, providing information on Company products or services you have purchased or otherwise use, registering purchased products, processing product orders, handling warranty claims, replacing product manuals, answering customer service requests and facilitating the use of our Sites.

  • purchased goods or services from us (and our marketing communications will be in relation to Motional’s similar goods or services); or

You will only receive electronic marketing communications under (b) above where such products or services were purchased by you prior to the receipt of the communication.

Data sharing 

We will share your personal data with third parties where required by law, where it is necessary to perform our contract with you or where we have another legitimate interest in doing so.
