Adam Griffin is the Vice President of Operations and Head of Safety at Motional.
In this role, he leads Motional’s Test Engineering, Test Operations, Safety, Commercial Operations, Data Analytics, and Data Annotation functions—ensuring operational excellence across vehicle programs, testing, and scaled data initiatives.
Prior to joining Motional, Adam held a variety of leadership roles in flight test, special warfare, and aviation safety operations, including over 20 years of active-duty service in the United States Air Force. During his career, he oversaw flight test for experimental aircraft development within Lockheed Martin’s Advanced Development Programs and led multidisciplinary engineering teams responsible for mission execution, risk mitigation, and safety assurance in high-tempo environments.
Adam earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University, with a concentration in signal processing and control systems theory. He brings deep operational expertise and technical leadership to the advancement of autonomous mobility.
