Dave Schwanky is an accomplished software engineering executive with a focus on autonomous driving technology. He currently serves as the Vice President of Software at Motional.
Prior to Motional, Dave served in senior software engineering leadership roles at HERE Technologies and Argo AI. During his tenures, he led advancements in machine learning-based map-making, the development of essential robotic software, tooling, cloud services, and machine learning for autonomous systems.
Earlier in his career, Dave worked at Ford Motor Company on the development of advanced embedded applications for the Ford Performance team. It was during this time that Dave’s passion for autonomous vehicles began as he led the software architecture of Ford’s virtual driver system.
Dave holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Michigan State University and a Master of Business Administration from Wayne State University.
